Two things that come before calling us

If you smell gas: do not touch light switches, appliances or a phone inside the building. Get everyone out, then call your gas utility from outside. Once they have made the property safe, call us and we will deal with the equipment.

If a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding: get everyone outside into fresh air and call 911 or the fire department. Do not go back in to investigate. We will find and fix the combustion fault once the property has been cleared.

What counts

Is this actually an emergency

We would rather you knew than guessed. An after hours call out costs more than a scheduled visit, and some of what feels urgent at eleven at night genuinely holds until morning.

Call now

  • No heat in freezing weather. Beyond comfort, there is a pipe freezing risk once the house temperature starts falling.
  • No cooling in a heat wave, particularly with elderly residents, infants or anyone with a health condition in the house.
  • Burning or electrical smell from the system. Shut it off at the thermostat and the unit, then call.
  • Water leaking from a boiler, air handler or condensate line. It causes damage while it waits.
  • Loud mechanical noise, banging or grinding. Running it makes the eventual repair bigger.
  • A furnace or boiler that keeps locking out after reset.

Usually holds until morning

  • Weak output with the system otherwise running normally, especially if the filter is overdue.
  • One room uncomfortable while the rest of the house is fine. Almost always distribution rather than equipment.
  • Mild short cycling with no noise and no smell.
  • A blank thermostat in mild weather, which is often batteries, a breaker or the service switch.
  • Ice on a heat pump in winter that clears on its own. A defrost cycle is normal behavior.
  • Rising bills without a performance change.
★★★★★

I'm so happy! Excellent, friendly, and professional. Hunter is very knowledgeable and was also excellent with his co worker/trainee. I would definitely HIGHLY recommend this team. My issue was fixed quickly and was affordable. You guys made my day! Thank you! I will survive this heat wave!

No heat right now

What to do while you wait for us

If the heat has failed, how much the temperature outside matters changes what you should be doing inside. Pick the conditions and we will tell you what protects the house.

No heat action guide

General guidance for a house without heat. It does not replace calling, and it does not apply if you smell gas or a CO alarm is sounding.

Roughly what is it outside
Moderate

How quickly a house loses heat depends on insulation, wind, and where the plumbing runs. A well insulated home holds temperature far longer than an older one with pipes in an exterior wall or an unheated crawlspace. If you are unsure, treat it as the more urgent case.

    Coverage

Where we can get to, and how fast

We run a 50 mile radius from Broad Brook, which reaches north across the river into Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke, and south through greater Hartford. One crew covers both sides of the state line because we hold licenses in both.

Response time depends on where you are in that radius, what is already running, and the weather. The first hard freeze of the season and the first serious heat wave are the two busiest stretches of the year for every contractor in the region.

We will give you a real window when you call rather than an optimistic one, and if we cannot reach you quickly we will say so while you still have time to make other arrangements.

    What happens when you call

No surprises, including on the price

After hours work costs more than a scheduled visit. You hear what that means for your call before anyone is dispatched, not when the invoice appears.

    01

    A person answers

Not a message service. We ask what it is doing, what you have, and whether anyone in the house is vulnerable to the temperature.

    02

    Honest triage

If it safely holds until morning we tell you and book you first thing, rather than charging you for an overnight visit you did not need.

    03

    Rate and window

You are told the after hours rate and a realistic arrival window before we dispatch. You decide from there.

    04

    Diagnose, then quote

We find the actual fault, price the repair, and get your approval before replacing anything.
