This step matters most for a whole-home rebate. The house has to meet one of three weatherization rules: built in 2000 or later, an assessment showing under $1,000 in recommended weatherization, or weatherization recommendations from 2013 or later already completed. Choose a contractor inside the network
Mass Save pays heat pump rebates only when the system is installed by a contractor participating in the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network, using eligible ENERGY STAR Cold Climate equipment. A cheaper quote from outside the network can cost you the whole rebate.

File the form with the right attachments
After the install, you submit the rebate form with the supporting documentation. A whole-home project also needs the Whole-Home Heat Pump Verification Form completed and signed. A partial-home project, where a gas or oil system stays in place, needs integrated controls installed so the heat pump carries the load first.
For equipment installed in 2026, Mass Save must receive the form and documents by February 28, 2027. We prepare an invoice that lists the equipment the way the program asks for it, so nothing bounces back for a missing model number.
Wait for the check, and keep the system tuned
Mass Save says to allow eight weeks for processing. Some projects are selected at random for a compliance inspection, so keep the equipment accessible and the paperwork handy until the rebate lands.

Where we work in Agawam

What Agawam homeowners ask about Mass Save
Yes. Agawam is Eversource territory for electricity, and natural gas in town is franchised to Eversource Gas Company of Massachusetts. Eversource is a Mass Save sponsor, so an Agawam address qualifies.
For a whole-home rebate, the house has to show it is weatherized, and the assessment is the usual way an older Agawam home shows it.
